Terrorists from the Fitna al-Khawarij group launched an attack on a security checkpoint in the Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, leading to the martyrdom of ten Frontier Corps (FC) personnel.
Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi condemned the terrorist assault on the FC post in Dera Ismail Khan and also expressed his disapproval of recent incidents, including the shooting at a Station House Officer’s vehicle in Bannu and an attack on a sub-inspector in Kohat.
Naqvi honored the memory of the ten FC personnel who were martyred during the attack on the ZAM check post. The attackers targeted the ZAM FC post located in the Darazinda area of DI Khan, launching the assault under the cover of darkness.
Despite the challenging circumstances, the ten FC personnel sacrificed their lives while courageously defending against the external terrorists.
The Minister noted that of the martyred personnel, six were from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s South Waziristan, and four were from the Karak district.
Paying tribute to the fallen soldiers, Naqvi stated that their ultimate sacrifice further strengthens the nation’s steadfast determination.
Earlier, in August, at least 11 police officers were martyred, and nine others were injured when dacoits carried out a rocket attack on two police vehicles in the Machka area near the Punjab-Sindh border.
to a Punjab police spokesperson, the police vehicles were ambushed while returning from a camp in the Katcha area, resulting in multiple casualties.
