The Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) tax collection for the period of July through March (2022–2023) was Rs. 5,156 billion, falling short of the target of Rs. 5,460 billion by Rs. 304 billion.
The FBR only received Rs. 663 billion in March 2023 as compared to the Rs. 727 billion that was the goal, a massive Rs. 64 billion deficiency.
In March 2023, the FBR is expected to have collected Rs. 663 billion, up from Rs. 573.6 billion in March 2022, a rise of Rs. 89.4 billion.
According to information gathered by the FBR late on Friday night, the FBR collected Rs. 5,156 billion in the first nine months of the current fiscal year as compared to Rs. 4,375 billion in the same period of 2021–22, showing an increase of Rs. 780.4 billion.
