LAHORE: To undergo repairs and improvements, the Lahore Zoo will be closed to the public for three months starting November 7. The news was revealed on Saturday.
Until January 31st, the zoo will be closed.
The development of Safari Zoo and Lahore Zoo is a priority for the Punjab government. At the zoo and safari, many services and new animals will be added per Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s instructions.
During the period of closure, the zoo will undergo civil works and other repairs. In two years, both projects will be finished.
When CM Mohsin Naqvi announced plans to renovate the zoo and Safari Park to meet international standards, he also announced plans to implement an e-ticketing system in these two leisure areas.
The Lahore Zoo’s animals will be moved to Changa Manga and Jallo Forest Safari Park during the closure.
Currently, around 1,300 animals, many of which are endangered species, call the Lahore Zoo home.
It is expected that the project would increase zoo visitors while adding to the public’s understanding of animal conservation.
