In preparation for the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, the federal government has implemented strict measures.
Residents of Islamabad and Rawalpindi will have a three-day holiday from October 14 to October 16.
Students will benefit from an extended weekend, as schools will be closed on Saturday and Sunday, October 12 and 13. With the additional holidays declared by the government, educational institutions will remain closed on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, giving students a total of five consecutive days off.
The SCO summit, scheduled to take place in Islamabad on October 15 and 16, will bring together various heads of state and their representatives.
For security during the summit, the military has been deployed in Islamabad under Article 245 and will remain until October 17.
Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar is also expected to visit Pakistan on October 15 for the SCO summit, marking his first trip to the country.
