Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday honored Shaheed Aitezaz Hasan for his heroic sacrifice in protecting his school and classmates from a catastrophic attack.
“Today, we remember the martyrdom of Shaheed Aitezaz Hasan, a true son of the soil from Hangu district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, whose exceptional bravery serves as a symbol of hope and resilience,” the prime minister said in a post on social media platform X.
He highlighted that, at just 15 years old, Aitezaz demonstrated extraordinary courage, giving his life to shield his school and classmates from a tragic attack.
“His selflessness and steadfast determination remind us of the profound impact a single act of bravery can have on countless lives,” the prime minister stated, emphasizing that Aitezaz’s legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
Today marks the 11th death anniversary of Aitezaz Hasan Shaheed, who lost his life on January 6, 2014, while stopping a suicide bomber from entering his school in Hangu, saving hundreds of lives.
Aitezaz confronted the bomber at the school’s main gate, preventing a devastating tragedy. In recognition of his bravery, Aitezaz Hasan was posthumously awarded the Sitara-e-Shujaat.
