Following the birth of three lion cubs at the zoo, several other animals in the safari park have also given birth, increasing the attraction for visitors who are coming in large numbers to see the newborns.

Among the animals, blackbucks gave birth to seven fawns, spotted deer to six, ibex to two, a mouflon to one fawn, and a camel to a calf. Additionally, a mare (female horse) has given birth to a foal.

Mayor of Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, instructed the Senior Director of Recreation, Iqbal Nawaz, to ensure special care is provided for these newborn animals, particularly regarding their diet and health.

The mayor noted that the birth of these baby animals in the zoo and safari park would help address the shortage of animals. He added that the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) is working to enhance recreational facilities for the city’s residents.

Wahab also mentioned that recreation options are being expanded in Bagh-e-Ibn Qasim, Aziz Bhatti Park, Hill Park, and other parks.

In Bagh-e-Ibn Qasim, a labyrinth and a cycle track have been created for children, attracting school groups. He further stated that efforts are underway to improve parks and recreational areas in poor condition.

Additionally, the mayor highlighted that work has commenced on repairing roads damaged by the rains, with efforts being made to complete the projects as quickly as possible.
