CM Maryam Nawaz to Include Low-Cost Units in Housing Project

The Punjab government has decided to integrate its ongoing low-cost housing projects in semi-urban areas into the ‘Apna Ghar Apni Chhat’ initiative led by Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz.

This move is aimed at extending affordable housing options to a wider segment of the population.

The government has already initiated low-cost housing schemes in Lahore, Sargodha, and Chiniot. These projects were thoroughly reviewed during the ninth meeting of the Punjab Cabinet’s Standing Committee on Legislation.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development provided a comprehensive briefing on the progress and scope of these housing schemes.

The committee has directed the Department of Housing to ensure the swift completion of these housing units, which are designed to be up to three marlas in size.

To support this, the immediate release of funds for the proposed schemes has been ordered, ensuring that the necessary financial resources are available to accelerate the construction process.

The completion of these low-cost housing schemes is dependent on the approval of the Punjab Cabinet.

Once approved, their integration into CM Maryam Nawaz’s ‘Apna Ghar Apni Chhat’ program will be finalized, representing a significant advancement in the government’s efforts to provide affordable housing to its citizens.
