Renowned Islamic scholar Dr. Zakir Naik, during his visit to Pakistan, praised the warmth and hospitality of the Pakistani people while emphasizing the importance of global Muslim unity.

He called for setting aside differences and uniting under the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah to address the challenges facing the Muslim Ummah.

In a meeting with Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly, at Parliament House in Islamabad, Naik discussed a range of issues including the challenges faced by Muslims globally, promoting interfaith harmony, and collective efforts for peace and unity.

Dr. Naik lauded Pakistan’s commitment to religious harmony and its role in maintaining global peace. He emphasized that Islam is a religion of peace, love, and brotherhood, adding that his mission has been to convey Islam’s true message to the world.

He also acknowledged Pakistan’s significant role, given its rich Islamic history and values, in spreading the message of peace worldwide.

Ayaz Sadiq, in turn, commended Dr. Zakir Naik’s efforts in promoting Islam globally and reiterated that unity and solidarity are key to addressing the challenges faced by the Muslim world today.

He highlighted Pakistan’s constitutional guarantee of equal rights for all citizens and its dedication to protecting minorities.

Dr. Naik appreciated Pakistan’s role in fostering religious harmony and promoting peace, and he underscored the necessity of unity within the Muslim community to confront modern challenges. He also toured Parliament House with the Speaker, receiving a briefing on the legislative process.

Dr. Zakir Naik is scheduled to deliver public lectures across Pakistan’s major cities next month, starting on October 5 in Karachi and concluding on October 20 in Islamabad. He will accompany his son, Dr. Fariq Naik, who will also deliver lectures.

The tour will begin in Karachi at Bagh-e-Quaid, near the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Dr. Naik’s first lecture will focus on “the purpose of our life,” while his son will address the question, “Is it necessary to understand the Quran while reading?” Prominent figures, including Governor Kamran Tessori and Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, will welcome him at Karachi Airport.

Dr. Naik’s engagements in Karachi will include meetings with religious scholars, starting at Jamia Binoria Alamia, where students from 74 countries will greet him. He will meet key religious and political figures, including Mufti Taqi Usmani.

In a previous interview, Dr. Naik explained his decision to relocate to Malaysia instead of Pakistan due to concerns over false accusations and complications that might arise if he moved to Pakistan.

He stated that relocating to Pakistan could have led to accusations of being an ISI agent, hindering his mission to spread Islamic teachings.

Naik cited Islamic principles in making this decision, stating that it is better to accept a lesser harm to avoid a greater one.

He expressed his admiration for Pakistan and his strong support base there, noting that although the COVID-19 pandemic had delayed his visit, he is now eager to visit the country.
