Pakistan’s Test team batter and vice-captain, Saud Shakeel, has expressed optimism that the pitch for the upcoming Test will be similar to the one in Multan, which provided favorable conditions for spin bowlers.
Shakeel pointed out that efforts are underway to prepare a spin-friendly pitch in Rawalpindi, emphasizing the experience of spinner Nauman Ali, who knows how to adapt his bowling to suit the pitch conditions.
He explained, “Work is being done on the pitch, and heaters are being used to ensure it is in optimal condition for play.”
He also highlighted the need for strategic planning for each series, stating, “In my view, pitch preparation should be tailored to each series, allowing us to make the most of home advantage.”
Shakeel emphasized the team’s commitment, adding, “Winning is crucial, and the Pakistan cricket team’s morale is high.”
The third Test between Pakistan and England is scheduled to begin in Rawalpindi this Thursday, with the series currently tied at one win each.
