According to News, the Federal Cabinet Division released the official list of public holidays for 2024, along with an extensive schedule for various events and celebrations.
This list includes both national and religious events, providing businesses and the general public with information about upcoming significant days.
The announcement states that the first public holiday of the year will be held on February 5 in honor of Kashmir Day and on March 23 in honor of Pakistan Day.
The three days of the Eidul Fitr holidays, that mark the end of Ramadan, are April 10, 11, and 12.
1st May is Labor Day. From June 17 to 19, there will be Eidul Azha holidays.”
Ashura’s Muharram holidays are set for July 16 and 17, August 14 is Independence Day, and September 16 is Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH).
The calendar will be concluded with Iqbal Day on November 9 and Quaid-e-Azam’s Birthday on December 25.
It is optional for those who celebrate Islamic traditions to mark Shab-e-Meraj on February 7 and Shab-e-Barat on February 25.
There will be optional holidays for non-Muslims as well, including Basant Panchami on February 14, Buddhist Purnima on March 23, Shivratri on March 8, Holi on March 24, Dulahandi on March 25, Good Friday on March 29, Easter holidays from March 31 to April 1, Baisakhi on April 13, and Eid-ul-Rizwan for the Baha’i community on April 21.
Bank holidays have also been introduced; the first bank holiday of the year is on January 1. Another optional New Year’s holiday is January 1.
