Imran Khan not part of Oxford University chancellor

PTI founder Imran Khan is not a contender in the upcoming Oxford University chancellor election. The university has released a list of 38 eligible candidates, and his name is absent from it.

According to the university administration, this is the first time that open applications were invited, and the chancellor election committee reviewed all submissions in accordance with established rules.

The initial round of voting is set for October 28, during which voters will cast their ballots. The top five candidates will then move on to the second round.

Following Lord Patten of Barnes’ retirement, Oxford University is conducting its first-ever chancellor election based on online popularity.

Alumni have been invited to rank the candidates. Among those in the running are Lord William Hague, Lord Peter Mandelson, Lady Elish Angiolini, and Dr. Margaret.

Earlier, former Prime Minister Imran Khan had submitted nomination papers to contest for the chancellorship.

PTI leader Zulfikar Bukhari had announced on X that, following Imran Khan’s instructions, the nomination form for the 2024 Oxford University chancellor election was submitted, and they looked forward to support for a historic campaign.

Imran Khan previously served as the chancellor of the University of Bradford from 2005 to 2014.
