Intel Teases Windows 12 Launch for 2024

In hopes of boosting sales, Intel has hinted to a “Windows refresh” planned for 2024.
David Zinsner, Intel’s CFO, mentioned the possibility of a Windows refresh during Citi’s shareholder conference last month, hinting that users would be encouraged to upgrade their PCs due to an impending Windows version.
In fact, we expect that 2024 will be an extremely positive year for clients, particularly in light of the next Windows update. We keep on thinking that the install base needs to be updated because it is somewhat dated. Given the influence of Windows, we think that might begin the next year.

These comments by Zinsner first appeared a month ago and were made public by PC Gamer.

They come after months of Windows 12 allusions appearing in leaked internal Intel documents. It looks like Intel is preparing its Meteor Lake desktop architecture for the next version of Windows, which is probably going to be called Windows 12.
There are hints that Microsoft is considering integrating AI-powered functionalities into upcoming Windows editions, even though the corporation has not publicly stated its plans for Windows 12.

In an earlier interview with The Verge, Microsoft‘s president of consumer marketing Yusuf Mehdi said, “As we start to develop future versions of Windows, we’ll think about other places where AI should play a natural role in terms of the experience.”

Microsoft seems to be gradually setting the foundation for a greater emphasis on AI within Windows. On the basis of these developments, it seems more and more probable that Windows 12 will be paired with a hardware upgrade that features AI coprocessors.
