Apple has officially revealed the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, highlighting a range of new features aimed at improving user experience.
According to the company, these devices have been “built from the ground up” with Apple Intelligence in mind, showcasing advancements in camera control, AI capabilities, and overall performance enhancements.
The new capacitive Camera Control button is a standout feature, which simplifies capturing photos and videos. Apple explained during the announcement that users can press this button to take a picture or slide their finger to adjust the zoom.
The button integrates seamlessly with the camera app, granting access to AI-driven features like zoom control and quick viewfinder settings.
The iPhone 16 lineup also boasts a 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera and the ability to capture 3D photos and videos for viewing on Apple Vision Pro.
These devices are powered by the new A18 chip, which Apple claims offers a performance boost of “up to 30%” compared to the previous A16 Bionic chip, providing better speed and energy efficiency.
Beyond hardware upgrades, Apple Intelligence introduces features like Genmoji, Image Playgrounds, automatic notification prioritization, and updates to Siri.
Additionally, expanded language support is planned, starting with U.S. English, with more dialects and languages expected in the coming year.
The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are priced at $799 and $899, respectively, with pre-orders opening this Friday and official availability beginning September 20.
