Iran vows all-out war against Israel if Lebanon is attacked

On Saturday, Iran issued a warning that “all Resistance Fronts,” comprising Iran and its regional allies, would confront Israel if it attacked Lebanon.

This statement from Iran’s mission to New York comes amid growing concerns about a broader regional conflict involving Israel and Lebanon’s Iran-backed Hezbollah movement.

The two sides have been engaged in nearly daily exchanges of fire since the onset of the war in Gaza.

Tensions have escalated this month, with increased aggressive rhetoric from both sides. Israel’s military has stated that plans for an offensive in Lebanon have been “approved and validated.” In response, Hezbollah warned that no part of Israel would be spared in a full-scale conflict.

In a social media post on platform X, the Iranian mission dismissed the Zionist regime’s claims of intending to attack Lebanon as psychological warfare.

However, it added, “should it embark on full-scale military aggression, an obliterating war will ensue. All options, including the full involvement of all Resistance Fronts, are on the table.”

The war in Gaza began in October when Hamas militants launched an attack on southern Israel.

Iran, a supporter of Hamas, has lauded the attack as a success but denied any involvement.

In addition to Hezbollah’s strikes on northern Israel, Iran-backed rebels in Yemen have repeatedly targeted commercial ships in the Red Sea, claiming these actions as expressions of solidarity with the Palestinians.

Iran also supports various other groups in the region.

Since the 1979 revolution that overthrew Iran’s US-backed shah, the Islamic Republic has not recognized Israel.

Fears of a regional war intensified in April after an airstrike demolished Iran’s consulate in Damascus, killing seven Revolutionary Guards, including two generals.

In retaliation, Iran launched an unprecedented drone and missile attack on Israel on April 13-14.

Subsequently, Iran‘s state media reported explosions in Isfahan province, while US media cited American officials claiming Israel conducted retaliatory strikes against its arch-rival.

Tehran downplayed the reported Israeli raid.
