Kamran Ghulam becomes 13th Pakistani to score century on debut

Pakistan batter Kamran Ghulam marked his Test debut with a century against England in the second Test in Multan on Tuesday.

His remarkable innings secured him a place in history as the 13th Pakistani player to score a century on debut, joining an elite group of cricketing legends.

The first Pakistani to achieve this feat was Khalid Ibadulla, who scored 166 runs in his debut innings against Australia in Karachi.

Javed Miandad followed with a brilliant 163 runs against New Zealand in Lahore. Saleem Malik contributed an unbeaten 100 in his third innings against Sri Lanka in Karachi, while Mohammad Wasim scored 109 in the fourth innings against New Zealand, also in Lahore.

Ali Naqvi managed 115 runs in his debut against South Africa in Rawalpindi, while Azhar Mahmood remained not out with 128 at the same venue against the same opponents.

Younus Khan scored 107 runs in his third innings against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi, and Taufeeq Umar made 104 runs in his second innings against Bangladesh in Multan.

Yasir Hameed made a mark with scores of 170 and 105 in his second and fourth innings, respectively, against Bangladesh in Karachi.

Fawad Alam made an impressive 168 in the third innings against Sri Lanka in Colombo, while Umar Akmal managed 129 runs in the second innings against New Zealand in Dunedin.

Abid Ali completed the list with an unbeaten 109 in the second innings against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi.

Ghulam’s achievement came at a critical moment for Pakistan, as the team struggled early, losing two wickets within the first hour.

The 29-year-old, along with Saim Ayub, steadied the innings with a crucial partnership of over 150 runs, bringing Pakistan back on course.

Ayub, however, fell short of a century, dismissed for 77, while Saud Shakeel contributed just four runs before being dismissed by Brydon Carse.
