Muhammad Hafeez hits out at Shadab Khan’s captaincy

Shadab Khan, the captain of Islamabad, came under fire from former Pakistan Cricket Team director Mohammad Hafeez for his absence of leadership during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 match with Multan Sultans.
In their PSL 2024 match on Tuesday, Islamabad United were beaten by Multan Sultans by 5 wickets.

Islamabad United, batting first in the match at the Multan Cricket Stadium, failed to score a significant amount—144 all out. Known for his rapid-fire boundary-scoring, Shadab Khan took the cricket world by surprise by batting lower on the order when his team needed to boost their scoring rate.

In 19.5 overs, Multan Sultan successfully chased the 145-run mark. Shadab Khan’s attitude in the match did not sit well with Muhammad Hafeez. He added that the Islamabad United skipper had a rough day on the A Sports show The Pavilion. He also said that he did not keep himself up the order and sent a specialist hitter instead.

Shadab Khan, according to the former cricket player, is seen as a regular hitter.
He went on to say that Shadab Khan bats down the order whenever he pleases and plays according to his convenience.
Shadab Khan did not bowl well in the match, according to Muhammad Hafeez’s subsequent remarks.
