Noman Ali climbs to top five in ICC Test rankings

Pakistan’s left-arm spinner Noman Ali has made a remarkable jump in the latest ICC Test bowlers’ rankings, moving up four places to claim the fifth position.

His rise comes after an exceptional 10-wicket haul in the recently concluded Test match against the West Indies in Multan.

Noman’s brilliant performance played a key role in helping Pakistan level the series 1-1. His precise and consistent bowling earned him 806 rating points, making him only the 12th Pakistani bowler to cross the 800-point mark in Test bowling rankings.

The 38-year-old spinner has been a dependable performer for Pakistan, frequently delivering match-winning spells. His climb in the rankings underscores the strength of Pakistan’s spin bowling attack and its increasing dominance in Test cricket.

The latest ICC rankings update also saw West Indies spinner Jomel Warrican rise 16 places to 25th after an outstanding series, where he claimed 19 wickets and earned the Player of the Series award.

Meanwhile, India’s Jasprit Bumrah continues to hold the top spot in the Test bowlers’ rankings after his impressive displays against Australia.

In the T20I rankings, England’s Adil Rashid regained the No. 1 position among bowlers following a strong performance against India, while India’s Varun Chakravarthy surged 25 places to reach fifth. England pacer Jofra Archer also made significant gains, jumping 13 places to sixth.

Among batters, Australia’s Travis Head remains at the top of the T20I rankings, but India’s young left-hander Tilak Varma has climbed to second place and is closing in on Head’s lead.

If Varma overtakes him, he will become the youngest-ever No. 1 T20I batter, breaking Babar Azam’s record.
