Security forces have eliminated 22 militants and injured 18 others in Intelligence-Based Operations (IBOs) conducted in the Tirah valley over the past month, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
These operations were launched in response to a series of terrorist attacks targeting both civilians and security personnel in the region.
The ISPR emphasized that these missions are ongoing and aimed at restoring peace and eradicating militant threats in the area. “In response to these heinous acts, security forces are conducting extensive Intelligence-Based Operations (IBOs) in the area against the Khawrij,” the statement said.
These counter-terrorism efforts, described as thorough and intelligence-led, reflect the military’s commitment to stabilizing the region and neutralizing threats.
Additionally, on Wednesday, security forces killed four terrorists during an intelligence-driven operation in the Spinwam area of North Waziristan, according to the military’s media wing.
The operation, which took place overnight between January 14 and 15, targeted a terrorist hideout after credible intelligence confirmed their presence, the ISPR reported.
In an intense exchange of gunfire, four militants were killed, and security forces recovered a cache of weapons and ammunition from the scene.
The ISPR stated that the neutralized terrorists had been involved in various attacks against security forces and the targeted killings of innocent civilians.
