Key Points
Balanced Squad:
- After putting on outstanding domestic cricket achievements, Mohammad Abbas rejoins the Test team.
- Shaheen Afridi has been rested for Test matches to control fatigue and preserve optimal fitness for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
New Talent:
- After setting records in Twenty20 Internationals, Sufyan Moqim is selected for the ODI team.
Planning Strategically:
- The ODI and T20I teams concentrate on combining youth and experience, while the Test team is built to adjust to South Africa’s pace-friendly conditions.
- The series allows Pakistan to gain momentum in ODIs ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy while also challenging themselves in Tests.
The Pakistani T20I team will leave on December 6 and the ODI and Test squads will join them on December 13, so the team will travel to South Africa in two stages.
