The PCB’s management committee chairman, Najam Sethi, said that Babar Azam will serve as the team captain during the 2023 World Cup.
Babar’s captaincy during Pakistan’s home ODI series against New Zealand, per him, was good, and his position as captain would only be evaluated after the World Cup.
Sethi said that Babar’s captaincy was not currently in danger. He told Babar to take it easy and focus on himself because leading the team under pressure would be difficult.
“Babar Azam will be instructing us during the World Cup. After that, we will observe and assess. Babar managed to lead the team admirably against New Zealand. Every time, there will be a review process, and up until then, his captaincy is secure.
Sethi said to Sports Hour, “I contacted Babar and suggested he calm down.
Former Pakistani cricket captain and head coach Misbah-ul-Haq also showed his trust in the current captain Babar, saying that he can the ability to shatter all of the game’s records.
According to Misbah, Babar Azam may break all cricketing and captaincy records.
