The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revealed the prize money details for the 2024-25 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, which is set to commence on October 26.

The total prize pool for the tournament is Rs12.6 million, with the winning team receiving Rs7.5 million, and the runners-up taking home Rs4 million, as stated in a PCB announcement on Wednesday.

The opening game will see defending champions Karachi Region Whites face Peshawar Region at Ashfaq Ground in Charsadda. This prestigious first-class competition will feature 18 teams representing 16 regions, divided into three groups.

The top team from each group will move on to the triangular stage. In this stage, the three group winners will each play two matches, with the best two teams advancing to the final, set to take place from December 14 to 18.

The venues for the triangular stage and the final will be announced soon. The tournament will be played across six cities—Abbottabad, Charsadda, Gujranwala, Islamabad, Lahore, and Rawalpindi—featuring a total of 45 group-stage matches.

Group A’s matches will be held in Islamabad across three venues, while Rawalpindi, Abbottabad, and Lahore will host the matches for Groups B and C, respectively.

The groups are organized as follows:

  • Group A: Abbottabad Region, Faisalabad Region, Hyderabad Region, Islamabad Region, Lahore Region Whites, Larkana Region.
  • Group B: AJK Region, Bahawalpur Region, Karachi Region Whites, Multan Region, Peshawar Region, Rawalpindi Region.
  • Group C: Dera Murad Jamali, FATA Region, Karachi Region Blues, Lahore Region Blues, Quetta Region, Sialkot Region.

The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy remains a vital event in Pakistan’s domestic cricket scene, providing a platform for regional players to showcase their talent on a national level.
