The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly nearing the finalization of a landmark deal to sell the naming rights of Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium to the Bank of Punjab.
Local media reports indicate that the agreement will see the stadium rebranded to reflect the bank’s identity for the next five years.
This move is part of PCB’s ongoing efforts to enhance revenue through strategic commercial partnerships, aligning with global trends where sports venues collaborate with major corporations for mutual benefits.
The rebranding of Gaddafi Stadium follows a similar initiative in 2022, when Karachi’s National Stadium was renamed National Bank Cricket Arena, and later National Bank Stadium, after a five-year deal with the National Bank of Pakistan.
The sale of naming rights is expected to provide a significant financial boost to PCB, aiding in the advancement of cricket development across the country.
This deal represents another step in PCB’s broader strategy to capitalize on commercial opportunities within the sport.
