National sports federations must now adhere to new regulations requiring them to submit detailed credentials for players chosen for international events, ensure that selections are merit-based, and provide post-event evaluations when applying for No Objection Certificates (NOCs).
On Tuesday, DG PSB Yasir Pirzada issued a statement setting a September 15 deadline for all federations to submit their audited financial accounts and bank statements.
These audited reports, which must cover the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024, must be certified by an accredited chartered accountancy firm. Federations are also required to provide certified bank statements spanning from January 1, 2023, to August 31, 2024.
The PSB warned that non-compliance with these financial reporting requirements could suspend future financial support.
“These measures are crucial not only for regulatory compliance but also to ensure that the funds provided are properly utilized to benefit the athletes representing Pakistan,” the statement said. A PSB official confirmed that all federations have been formally notified.
The board emphasized that these actions are part of a broader initiative to enhance financial transparency and support the development of sports in the country by ensuring resources are allocated effectively for athlete development.
