The basic pay of all contract workers and civil servants employed in civil jobs gets an ad hoc relief allowance of 30% from the Punjab government.
According to an official letter sent by the Finance Department, the allowance will start to take effect on July 1st, 2023, and continue until further orders.
Ad-hoc allowance will:
i) Be subject to paying income tax.
ii) Be admissible while on leave and for the duration of the LPR, except for extraordinary leave.
iii) Not to be regarded as pay to calculate a pension or gratuity or recover housing expenses.
iv) Not be allowed to the personnel while they are on the job or posting abroad.
v) Be admissible to the employees upon their return from a posting or deputation abroad at the rate and amount that they would have been if they had not been posted abroad.
The above-mentioned ad hoc relief allowance-2023 will be covered by the appropriate departments’ budgetary allotment for FY2023–2024; no additional grant is expected on this account.
