Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has introduced the “Dhee Rani” program, aimed at supporting the wedding arrangements for underprivileged couples to help alleviate their financial burdens.
Applications for the initiative can be submitted via the online portal cmp.punjab.gov.pk or through the helpline number 1312.
Following the Chief Minister’s instructions, a helpline has been established to address any inquiries regarding the program. To ensure transparency and fairness, teams will visit applicants’ homes to verify their eligibility.
The initiative will provide each newlywed couple with Rs100,000 via ATM cards, along with essential items such as furniture, crockery, and clothing. The government will also organize wedding meals for the couples.
Regarding constitutional reforms, the Punjab CM praised the passage of the 26th amendment, expressing that it would pave the way for timely justice.
She congratulated the nation, emphasizing the amendment’s importance for upholding the rule of law and reaffirming parliament’s constitutional authority and dignity.
Maryam Nawaz highlighted that the amendment would lead to positive reforms in the judicial system, resulting in a more independent and strengthened judiciary.
