The federal government has made the decision to pay all currently employed and retired government employees their April salary, allowances, and pensions early in observance of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The decision was made, according to sources, during a meeting between Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, with the latter giving the Secretary of Finance instructions to act as soon as possible.
But, the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee has also called its regular meeting to view the Shawaal crescent. On Thursday, April 20 (29 Ramadan), the meeting has been scheduled. On the same day, zonal committee meetings will also take place.
The main gathering will take place in Islamabad at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony building. The meeting will be presided over by Chairman Molana Abdul Khabeer Azad.
The national government will soon declare the Eid ul-Fitr holidays. According to reports, the Cabinet Division has sent a summary to the Prime Minister’s Office regarding this.
Five holidays will be observed in honor of Eid ul-Fitr, according to reports. The vacation will begin on 20 April and last on 24 April.
