The Government of Pakistan has introduced a new initiative under the Prime Minister’s Youth Business and Agriculture Loan Scheme to provide financing for laptops to support students, freelancers, and entrepreneurs.
This scheme offers loans categorized into three tiers:
Basic Laptops: Loans up to Rs150,000
Medium-Level Laptops: Loans up to Rs300,000
Advanced Laptops: Loans up to Rs450,000
Eligible applicants include students from Higher Education Commission-recognized institutions, freelancers, and entrepreneurs aged between 18 to 30 years.
The loan tenure is set at four years with a 0% end-user markup, making it an interest-free loan. The scheme operates on an 80:20 debt-to-equity ratio and includes a risk mitigation provision of 29% on a first-loss basis.
This initiative aims to empower the youth by enhancing their access to digital tools, thereby promoting education, skill development, and entrepreneurship across the country.
